MCHS encourages all students to prepare and improve. 

It is our goal for all students to get “their best score.”

The best way to achieve YOUR BEST SAT Score is to follow these steps:

1. Be in rigorous college preparatory classes in high school

2. Take the SAT prior to April of your Junior Year - Register for the SAT here

3. Enroll in an MCHS ZAPs strategy course taught by MCHS Teachers

4. Engage in individual practice online and in classes

Why is the SAT Important?

• The SAT is one of the primary college entrance exams in the United States.

• The SAT is one of the assessments used by Illinois to assess schools.

• The SAT opens doors to many institutions and scholarships. 

• The SAT assesses skills needed for college, workplace, military and career.

How does MCHS use PSAT scores?

MCHS uses student PSAT scores for instructional planning, course placement and to help students improve towards college and career readiness.
