MCHS COVID-19 Dashboard

The McHenry County Department of Health (MCDH) has partnered with McHenry County school superintendents to develop School Metrics Interim Guidance that uses county-level health metrics to assist school officials in evaluating transitions between virtual, hybrid, or in-person learning models. The McHenry County School Metrics are intended to be used in conjunction with the Part 3 – Transition Joint Guidance document developed by ISBE and IDPH.

McHenry County School Metrics Dashboard

The MCDH framework identifies three specific school learning models (in-person, hybrid, and virtual) and provides recommended movement through the learning models based on public health metrics shown on the School Metrics Dashboard.

The MCHD School Metrics are only one factor in the decision-making process to determine if MCHS will advance to the next instructional model or return to a previous form of instruction. In addition to public health metrics, MCHS must also comply with all ISBE guidance and IDPH requirements. Staffing our school buildings, facility management, and onsite COVID-19 cases also factor in our ability to open for in-person instruction. You can also view county and regional metrics below:

MCHS Weekly COVID-19 Case Count
In addition to providing a regional look at COVID-19 cases, this page also displays confirmed positive COVID-19 cases of District 156 staff and students. The dashboard also tracks the number of students and staff who have been quarantined or isolated within a given week.

Due to privacy laws (HIPAA, FERPA), District 156 is unable to share identifying information about individuals who tested positive for COVID-19. District 156 will notify any staff member, or the parent/guardian of any student, considered a close contact in a COVID-positive case.

  • Starting with the week of Jan. 17-23, the Active COVID Case Count and Exclusion Count will only include students and staff members who are in-person at East Campus, West Campus and the District Office.
  • This includes students participating in the Hybrid Learning Model, athletics, or extracurricular activities.

*Active COVID-19 Positive Cases refers to active COVID-19 cases currently in isolation in the Hybrid Learning Model. The number includes any student who participates in athletics or extracurricular activities on campus.

*The district will update the dashboard weekly on Wednesday.

*Exclusion Number refers to the total number of students or staff who are currently in quarantine (close contact) or isolation in the Hybrid Learning Model. The number includes any student who participates in athletics or extracurricular activities on campus.

*The district will update the dashboard weekly on Wednesday.
