Spirit week kicks off Monday at both East and West campuses in anticipation of the annual MORP event on Feb. 15 at East Campus.
MORP, which is Prom spelled backward, is a casual dance and party for students. The theme is Glow Out and decorations include black lighting and neon colors.
Sponsored by the student councils at both campuses, the dance is 8-11 p.m. Feb. 15 in the East Campus gymnasium.
“The council is excited for the dance,” said Emily Gaghan, a junior and member of the student council. “It is super fun.”
The idea behind MORP is to give students a casual to be with friends, without the pressure of dressing up and spending a lot of money. Last year’s event was a hit, Gaghan said, and organizers are hoping a great attendance this year, too.
Spirit week starts with PJ Day on Monday, and special dress up days continue through the week. Tickets are on sale for the dance during lunch periods, and will also be available at the door.
Cost is $10 in advance and $12 at the door.
Student council members will decorate both buildings for spirit week.
