Distinguished Graduate

The McHenry High School Foundation Committee is accepting nominations for the McHenry High School Distinguished Graduate honor, which is a recognition of McHenry High School alumni who have gone above and beyond in their career fields, humanitarian work or community service.

To be considered for the award, nominees must be graduates of McHenry High School District 156 for at least 15 years. The criteria used to determine a Distinguished Graduate includes having a wide sphere of influence, making a positive impact on the community, overcoming difficulties to reach goals, serving humanity, and inspiring others.

Committees of foundation members, District 156 administrators, parents, and students will judge nominations in a two-tier process. Each year, a maximum of five Distinguished Graduates are selected.

Distinguished Graduates have typically been honored in the spring, but this year a celebration is planned to coincide with Homecoming in the fall. Distinguished Graduates will also have a photo and summary of accomplishments prominently displayed at McHenry High School buildings and alongside Distinguished Graduates from prior years.

Distinguished Graduates will also receive plaques of their own to display.

The deadline for nominations is May 1, 2021. Click here to make a nomination.
