Two new events, planned by the MCHS Black Student Union club, highlight the Black History Month celebration at McHenry Community High School.
Each year, social science teachers also take a look at different themes surrounding Black History Month during classes. This year's national theme is "African Americans and the Arts."
Black Student Union members are planning a free movie night for students on Feb. 13 and lunchtime activities on Feb. 15. Students are able to vote on the movie selection.
