Key Club convention 2024

This past weekend, 13 Key Club members along with advisor Emma Theel and Instructor Kris Hokinson attended the 73rd Annual Illinois-Eastern Iowa Key Club District Convention in downstate Springfield.

Our members and club received the following awards and recognitions at the convention.

Distinguished President - Jacob Jensen

Distinguished Vice-President - Kristin Anderson

Distinguished Secretary - Jocelyn Bello

Distinguished Statistical Secretary - John McLaughlin

Distinguished Treasurer - Grace Hunt

Distinguished Sophomore - Kyra Hanneman

100 Hour Award - Kristin Anderson

Jia Shah served this year as Lieutenant Governor (LTG).   She was awarded the Robert F Lucas Outstanding LTG Award.

Jia also ran off the floor for Bulletin Editor and she won. She will be our first elected District Officer from McHenry.  She is in charge of producing a monthly newsletter for the district and in helping all 30 LTGs produce their monthly newsletters.  She is also in charge of the District's social media.

Grace Hunt was installed as Lieutenant Governor for the coming year.

-We received 2nd place for Single Service - Platinum Division for our Christmas Adoption project. 

-We received 1st place for our donation to the Kiwanis Neuroscience Research Foundation.

Kristin Anderson, Jocelyn Bello, and Kyra Hanneman presented a forum on our successful club.

Last spring, Emma Theel accepted the position of Assistant Administrator for our district. The head administrator was not able to attend convention this year, so Theel took over many of his responsibilities including speaking in front of the convention multiple times.
