Nicole Class wins Lina Rogers award from McHenry County

McHenry Community High School District 156 is celebrating Upper Campus Nurse Nicole Class, who was awarded the Lina Rogers Award for school health professionals by the McHenry County Department of Health.

High school staff surprised Class with a reception March 7. Class was presented with the award at the county health department’s School Health Professionals Symposium, which was held at Northwestern Medicine Huntley Hospital. The award is named after Lina Rogers, the first school nurse.

Class was nominated for the award for her work leading the health department at Upper Campus, a school that serves about 1,600 in grades 10 through 12. In addition to her busy health department work, Class was instrumental in designing the new Certified Nursing Assistant program to McHenry Community High School’s Biomedical Program.
