McHenry Community High School's cross country program is hosting its second annual Runathon fundraising event on Aug. 7 offering participants a chance to see how far they can go in one hour.
This year, the Runathon starts at 8 p.m. and finishes under the lights at McCracken Field. It is a unique event that allows runners and walkers to complete laps on our one-mile course over gravel, grass, asphalt, and track surfaces, completely within the McCracken Field athletic complex.
Registration and event details: bit.ly/runmchs. Register by July 27 to guarantee yourself a Runathon T-shirt.
The registration fee goes to support the high school cross country program. There's also an opportunity to make direct monetary donations through the registration website.
There will also be a FUNDrive clothing drive to collect donations of clothing and soft goods. Items will be sold per pound to Savers through their FUNDrive program. Items will be accepted from 7-9 p.m. before and during the Runathon event.
Examples of soft goods are coats, shoes, handbags, and household soft textiles such as bedding, towels, blankets and more. Please gather all items into garbage bags.
Visit the event website above for more details.
