McHenry Community High School has two student productions coming up in November – one for each campus.
“Shiloh’s Well” by Chase Owen takes the stage at 7 p.m. Nov. 7-8 at the Freshman Campus Theatre, 1012 N. Green St., McHenry, and includes performers from the freshman and sophomore classes.
At Upper Campus, junior and senior performers will present “Figaro” by Charles Morey at 7 p.m. Nov. 13-15 in the auditorium. Upper Campus is at 4724 W. Crystal Lake Road, McHenry.
Ticket price is the same for both performances — $10 each for all tickets. Tickets can be purchased online at GoFan, and will be available at the door.
“Shiloh’s Well,” which lasts about one hour, follows Shiloh, a high school student overwhelmed by a series of small disasters, who discovers a mysterious wishing well with the power to change the course of the day. Audiences will be captivated by the chaos of high school life, the power of friendship, and the timeless lesson that every choice has its ripple effect.
A play adapted from “Le Mariage de Figaro” by Beaumarchais, “Figaro,” is a comedy about the clever servant Figaro and his fiancée Suzanne, who must outsmart their scheming employer, Count Almaviva, to protect their love. Full of disguises, clever tricks, and sharp social satire, the play exposes hypocrisy, champions cleverness over privilege, and celebrates love and loyalty.
The show is about two hours long.
