McHenry Community High School students and staff showed their holiday spirit through participation in several programs to give back to the surrounding community.
On Dec. 14, nearly 150 students and staff joined the Kids In Need Secret Santa program to make more than 900 deliveries to local families.
Last week, Key Club members gathered to wrap more than 800 gifts for families they adopted through Rosecrance and Pioneer Center. With the help of McHenry Kiwanas and local middle schools, the Key Club provided each person with three gifts.
Earlier this month, MCHS staff coordinated the annual Giving Tree for staff to provide gifts to those in need. Students made cards to go along with the gifts.
Those are just three ways students and staff stepped up to help their neighbors in December.
