McHenry High School student members in the Tri-M Music Honor Society are inviting aspiring musicians in elementary school and middle school to spend time learning from high school musicians.
The Children's Music Day and Middle School Music Clinic will both be held on Jan. 17 at Upper Campus, 4724 W. Crystal Lake Road, McHenry. Children's Music Day is set for 9 a.m. to noon in the Upper Campus auditorium. The Middle School Music Clinic will be held from 2-4 p.m.
Tickets for both events are available on GoFan. In each case, the cost is $5 per person plus a $1 fee.

Young students can embark on a magical musical journey at our Children's Music Day. This fun-filled event is designed to ignite the passion for music in young hearts, offering an exciting journey through various stations.
Sing Along Station: Unleash your vocal talents as we explore the world of singing! Kids will discover the power of their voices as they join in lively sing-alongs, learning new songs and harmonizing with friends.
Composer's Corner: Step into the Composer's Corner and discover the magic of creating your own melodies. Our experienced instructors will guide budding musicians in composing their very own musical pieces.
Instrument Playground: Unleash the musician within our Instrument Playground! From strumming guitars to trumpets and saxophones, children will have a blast exploring a variety of instruments, discovering the sounds that resonate with them.
Conductor's Station: Step into the shoes of a conductor and experience the magic of leading an ensemble! Kids will have the chance to wave the baton and direct their own musical masterpiece.
Drum Circle: Join in the rhythm at our Drum Circle! Feel the beat, express yourself, and create music together in a dynamic and collaborative drumming experience.
Make Your Own Instrument: Get hands-on at the crafting station! Kids will have the opportunity to make their very own instruments, adding a personal touch to the music-making experience.
Concert Finale: The day crescendos into a spectacular Concert Finale! Children will showcase what they've learned throughout the day, treating family and friends to a delightful musical performance.
Please arrive at 8:45am for check in so we can begin on time. Enter through the NORTH entrance and make your way to the 3rd floor to the auditorium
This is NOT a drop off event. A parent or guardian is required to remain in the building during this event. One parent or guardian is required for up to four participants.
Parents/Guardians:
1. Stay with Your Child: Feel free to join your child at the various stations.
2. Relax in Soft Seating: If parents prefer some downtime, we have comfortable soft seating.
Middle School Music Clinic

Middle school band and choir students can take their skills to the next level with hands-on masterclasses taught by members of the MCHS Tri-M Music Honor Society.
Topics include rhythm, dynamics and articulation, warm-up techniques, and tone and pitch. Students should bring their instruments, and extra reeds (if applicable). Students should also bring a water bottle.
There are two groups – one for band and the other for choir. Space is limited to 50 for each group. Participation is on a first-come, first-served basis. Please arrive at 1:45 pm for check in so we can begin on time.
Enter through the NORTH entrance and make your way to the 3rd floor to the auditorium.
No walk-ins will be available. Online sign-up and payment are mandatory for attendance.
Parents/Guardians:
1. Parents may leave after dropping off their child from the registration table inside, however, you must return by 3:45 and pick up your child from the auditorium.
2. Or parents relax in soft seating: If you prefer, we have comfortable soft seating areas where you can relax.
