In the annual Precision Manufacturing Competition hosted by the Schaumburg-based Technology and Manufacturing Association, MCHS submitted 26 entries and nine of those entries placed in the top three.
This is the most McHenry students to place near the top, according to manufacturing teachers.
This competition drew more than 300 submissions from 16 area schools. The May 7 event, meant to cultivate interest in advanced manufacturing, is in its 34th year.
Held at the Mazak Corporation in Schaumburg, the event also served as a career fair for students interested in learning more about career opportunities with local manufacturing businesses.
Congratulations to everyone who entered and a special shout-out to our students who placed. They are:
Carson White
Jeremy Beese
Ethan Cowgill
Caiden Riedlinger
Deven Lehst
Caleb Kaminski
Fenix Paz
Kyren Rivard
Lorilye Ely
This competition is a culmination of all of the learning, trying, failing and hard work that happens in our class all throughout the year. Our students took on complex challenges and found that they can not only compete but that they can win when they put their minds to it!
