MCHS Surround Sound and Concert Choir spent Wednesday at Carthage College participating in the Lakeshore Choral Festival.
Instructor and choir Director Derek Galvicius said each choir had a 50-minute clinic with college music professors, a tour of the campus and then a performance in the expansive Siebert Chapel.
Both choirs were top-placed ensembles among eight other high school choirs, Galvicius said.
