The MCHS Powerlifting Club participated in the Illinois High School Powerlifting Association's state meet on May 28 at New Trier High School.
Although the official results are not yet released from IHSPLA, three MCHS students were recognized: Jillian Galuszka (1st), Logyn Frapolly (1st), Aidan Shafer (2nd).
Four new IHSPLA state records:
- Logyn Frapolly (181 lb. division): 405 Back Squat, 410 Deadlift
- Jillian Galuszka (114 lb. division): 250 Back Squat
- Aidan Shafer (165 lb. division): 495 Deadlift
Logyn Frapolly was recognized as Top Female Lifter of the meet. She also earned an incredible lifetime PR total of 1,000 lbs. for squat, bench, and deadlift. Logyn is the first female athlete at McHenry to ever earn this distinction.
