This past weekend, several Special Olympics athletes and their Unified Partners brought incredible energy to the Bags (Cornhole) Tournament at North Central College in Naperville. Ellie Neuman and Stefanie Sanchez earned the gold medal! Danny Aliva and Carlos Sanchez brought home the bronze medal! Coach Brown and Coach Dunne were there every step of the way, cheering on and championing our athletes. It was a day overflowing with teamwork, joy, and unforgettable moments!

On Thursday and Friday, we held our annual Chautauqua! American Studies students dressed as figures from either history or modern day and discussed multiple perspectives on social issues to practice civil discourse.

Our new AP Cybersecurity course is a broad introduction to the field that offers students the opportunity to earn college credit and an employer-endorsed credential. Students will study the ways that individuals and organizations manage risk and how risk can be mitigated through a defense-in-depth strategy. Our BRIDGES transition program's Across the Bridge store hosted a McHenry Area Chamber of Commerce Mid-Day Mixer. Chamber members played bingo, were taught crafts and checked out the store. The Across the Bridge store will be open 9 a.m.-5 p.m. on Black Friday, November 28. They are located at 1774 N Richmond Rd. McHenry, IL. Come check out their holiday items!

MCHS District 156 board members were given AVID jackets Monday night to honor them for their work supporting our schools as well as the district implementation of the AVID elective curriculum for students.

Adaptations to our freshman biology curriculum and classroom methods will include differentiated stations where students will work through learning activities and rigorous extensions. Students will have the ability to earn honors credit at the end of each semester if they complete additional requirements.
