Construction work at the Upper Campus culinary lab

McHenry Community High School District 156 continues to invest in facilities with the summer 2023 construction projects that include a new culinary lab at Upper Campus, roof improvements at Freshman Campus, and new soccer fields at McCracken.

The Student Services area at Freshman Campus is also being renovated, and cafeteria equipment is being replaced at both Freshman and Upper campuses. The baseball field will also ultimately move to Upper Campus.

Here is the complete list of summer projects:

Freshman Campus:

  • Roof overlays for the remainder of the FC roofs
  • Remodel of Student Services area

Upper Campus:

  • Culinary room remodel
  • Cafeteria kitchen equipment replacement (various units at both UC and FC).
  • Varsity baseball field construction begins (to be completed in 2024). This new field will replace the current varsity soccer field, which will move to McCracken.

McCracken Field:

  • Construction of two new soccer fields to replace the existing practice field located behind the home bleachers. 
  • Various site improvements including adding drainage and irrigation for the new soccer fields, new shot put and discus areas, and fencing work.
