
Four MCHS seniors were named 2021 homecoming royalty on Monday afternoon. Alexis Friedle and Ryan Barrett represent East Campus, and Max DeCicco and Ashley Wachter were selected at West.

MCHS students are gearing up for a week of fun activities to create a traditional fall Homecoming in the spring. In addition to Spirit Week dress days, several after-school events are planned for next week.

Congratulations to MCHS alum Darrin Shockey for graduating U.S. Army basic training on April 1, and starting to train to be a horizontal construction engineer. After finishing advanced individual training, he plans to start airborne school.

Congratulations to juniors Alyssa Franklin and Megan Goff for being selected to represent MCHS in the American Legion Auxiliary Illini Girls State program. Planned for June at Eastern Illinois University, the weeklong project offers civics training through simulated government.

Congratulations to MCHS senior David Liceaga who was sworn in with the U.S. Marines on Wednesday. He will be going to basic training on Oct. 4 in San Diego, Calif.

Students at West Campus came to school Wednesday to see kind notes on their lockers as part of the Start With Hello campaign during the first week of expanded in-person learning.

Wednesday was the perfect morning for the very first 2020-21 Warrior Wednesday at East Campus. Staff gathered at the entrance with music and dancing to welcome students to school.
Everyone has missed this weekly event during the past year.

Hallways were buzzing on Monday for the start of expanded in-person learning in District 156 schools. Also, West Campus student council members kicked off their "Start with Hello" week with decorations and treats for students.





Congratulations to Aidan Ferguson, Class of 2020, who recently graduated Marine Corps Boot Camp and earned the title Marine. He will continue his training with the goal of becoming an aviation mechanic in the Marine Corps.

Congratulations to the West Campus PE Department's Outstanding PE Student winners for the third quarter.
These students were selected based on a number of factors, including going above and beyond in their classes. Each student receives a shirt and has their photo on display.


New math and science classrooms in the Center for Science, Technology, and Industry earned high marks again from students Tuesday, which was the first day for West Campus black team students to work in the new spaces.





Monday was a beautiful day for West Campus math classes to start learning in the newly built Center for Science, Technology, and Industry.
Some science classes got started in the new center, too!

This week, students in the MCHS Warrior Chef capstone culinary course are busily working on making mini fruit pizzas. The challenge was to create a dozen uniform items that could be sold commercially.
