Congratulations to Kathryn Larson, who is our newest AVID Warrior! She completed the twelve-hour AVID strategies training. AVID is a 45-year-old national program that includes an elective class, where the goal is to help students achieve greater success in both the classroom and in their future. This is MCHS' third year as an AVID school.

More clubs painted the town last week to celebrate homecoming! We hope you enjoy the colorful windows in downtown McHenry. 🎨




We had a great time at the homecoming parade and coronation on Sunday! Cheer, dance, choir and band performed. We also honored one of our Distinguished Graduates, Dr. Roberts. Look at our last post to see who was crowned homecoming king and queen! Happy homecoming week!

The Garden Club is back in action collecting more seeds for spring planting in the Freshman Campus. They planted a Trumpet which will attract hummingbirds in the future and brighten up the empty corners of the building.

All of the students at Freshman Campus received a McHenry Warriors t-shirt this week. On Friday, Mrs. Harris’ second period Introduction to Business understood the assignment and wore their new shirts or their game day uniform.

“It doesn’t surprise me that he did step in,” MCHS Biomedical Science Instructor Leah Pelletier said of her former student, Mason Singer, who helped a person with a medical emergency at a recent outdoor event.
