
Today in Ms. Yumping's Spanish class, students participated in “un desfile de moda” (fashion show)! They created beautiful fashion designs while learning how to talk about clothing, colors, and prices in Spanish.

On Monday, MCHS administrators and school board members recognized the many accomplishments of former West Campus Principal Marsha Potthoff, who retired recently after 35 years in education.

Congratulations to McHenry wrestler Brody Hallin for qualifying for state for the third consecutive season.
Hallin, who is 28-0 and ranked No. 1 in the state at 152 lb., won his 100th career match a few weeks ago.

Congratulations to Private Christopher Agaton on earning the title Marine! A member of the MCHS Class of 2021, Christopher graduated early to go to boot camp.
He is serving as a Marine Corps Reservist, so he will go to college locally while serving his country.

Pardon our dust: Locker replacement started Tuesday at the Freshman Campus (formerly East). This is one of several projects in a busy summer that also includes some new flooring at the Freshman Campus and new art and photo labs, career center and choir room at the Upper Campus.



MCHS offices and facilities will be closed Monday in observance of Memorial Day. Have a wonderful weekend.

West Campus hosted the last six of 14 commencement ceremonies Friday afternoon. Families, teachers and staff gathered to send off the #Classof2021 to the next chapter. "That skill of being able to adapt ... will take you far," Principal Marsha Potthoff told graduates.





Dr. Prickett, along with teachers and staff, met with some members of the Class of 2022 this week to get started planning for the future.
With the start of the 2021-22 school year, McHenry High School will be one school with a Freshman Campus and an Upper Campus.

Congratulations to graduating senior Orion Rydalch for earning a $2,500 scholarship from the National Cyber Scholarship program through a competition with the MCHS Cyber Security Club.
Rydalch plans to study computer science at Brigham Young University.

West Campus hosted the first of 14 graduation ceremonies Thursday to celebrate the 348 members of the Class of 2021 with family, teachers and staff. "You have had to adapt to more change than anyone I can recall," Principal Marsha Potthoff told the graduates. Congratulations!





East Campus hosted three graduation ceremonies Thursday to celebrate the 132 members of the Class of 2021 with families, teachers and staff. "You came back stronger than when you left at the beginning of the pandemic," Principal Jeff Prickett told the graduates.

Congratulations to Anthony Montes, who is the first member of the Class of 2022 to enlist into the Marine Corps. He will start his senior off with a set plan to ensure his future success.


On Sunday, 123 West Campus Class of 2021 members were honored as Distinguished Warriors for academic excellence and school involvement. The event featured speeches from three alumni who encouraged graduates to use the challenging year as fuel for future success.
