This past weekend, seven Key Club members and their advisor traveled to Bloomington to volunteer at the Special Olympics Summer Games. Members helped with soccer, bocce ball, the hospitality tent, souvenirs, powerlifting, and opening ceremonies.
They had a great time interacting with the athletes and other volunteers. Students interested in community service through Key Club should contact head advisor, Emma Theel.
Mrs. Hanson's students celebrated the end of the first session of summer school by making ice cream in a bag and homemade fudge. It's always fun to combine science with cooking! 🍦#WarriorReady156

On Thursday, Vindictive Vinyl Daniel Florek installed a mural at 3411 Elm St. designed by recent graduate, Sophie Zieba. Matt Connor's graphics students printed the design using material from Jessup Manufacturing. Sophie's design was chosen by the community in an online poll.
Juneteenth (June 19, 1865) marks the day the last enslaved people in the U.S. were freed—over two years after the Emancipation Proclamation. In honor of this national holiday, there is no school and offices are closed. Learn more: https://tinyurl.com/juneteenth156

Mrs. Hanson's class had a fun sensory experience playing with shaving cream. Also, in honor National Root Beer Day, Mrs. Czaja and Mrs. Hanson's classes joined together to have a root beer float party. This sounds like a great day in summer school!
