For Tuesday Takeover, Latin-American Student Organization (LASO) took over and greeted students by handing them candy and invites to their November 1 Day of the Dead event. Band also performed a song to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month as students walked in Tuesday morning.

MCHS is hiring for a social science teacher to start in January
Congratulations to Sean Sterner who is our newest AVID Warrior! He completed the twelve-hour AVID strategies training. AVID is a 45-year-old national program that includes an elective class, where the goal is to help students achieve greater success in both the classroom and in their future. This is MCHS' third year as an AVID school.

On Sunday, MCHS Special Olympics athletes, Unified Partners, and volunteers joined athletes from Grant High School, Grayslake Central, and District 15 for an exciting bocce ball tournament. The event was filled with great competition, sportsmanship and perfect weather! It was a wonderful celebration of inclusion, teamwork and the spirit of the Special Olympics.

Distinguished Graduate Michael Christensen spoke to students on Friday. Michael served in the Army National Guard and was deployed to Afghanistan where he earned a Bronze Star with Valor for his leadership. He also owns the business Peak One Builders and started the non-profit, Freedom for Heroes. On Thursday, we dressed in neon for spirit week. Freshman Campus also had the opportunity during lunches to submit songs they'd like to be played at the dance. (Upper Campus submitted songs earlier in the week.)
Remember, homecoming dance ticket sales end at 12 p.m. on Saturday for MCHS students. We are no longer accepting guest forms.
