
Matt de la Peña, a New York Times bestselling author and winner of the Newbery Medal for his book “Last Stop on Market Street,” visited MCHS and spoke to English students for our Writers Week. He told students to read at least 50 pages of a book before forming an opinion on it.

We're heading into prom season, so the Key Club is helping collect donations of formal dresses, shoes, and accessories for the My Sister's Dress sale on March 2.
Donations can be dropped off at the north security desk at Upper Campus until Feb. 26.

Last Friday Logan Campbell from Illinois Wesleyan University visited the Symphonic Band class to work with them in preparation for their February 28 concert and talk to them about participating in music in college as a music major or non-major. #WarriorReady156

Congratulations to Emily Carpenter for qualifying for sectionals after a great performance with the MCHS girls varsity bowling team at regionals.
Emily bowled a 1,076 pin series in regionals Saturday to finish in 11th place overall and 5th place for singles qualifiers.


Congratulations to the seven members of the boys wrestling team who qualified for sectionals.
Pedro Jimenez and Ryan Hanson both took first place at regionals. Other qualifiers are Jesse Saavedra, Aiden Fischler, Aiden Schuldt, Jeff Schwab, and Myles Wagner.

MCHS alum Andrew Bentz, a service and installation technician for Huemann Water Conditioning, visited Upper Campus Thursday to install a new reverse osmosis water system in the greenhouse.
The system removes any impurities in the water, which will be especially helpful to fish in the science department's aquaponics growing program.

In honor of Black History Month, two new events are planned by the Black Student Union club to educate students about the contributions of Black Americans.
