Congratulations to Andrew Stegenga who is our newest AVID Warrior! He completed the twelve-hour AVID strategies training. AVID is a 45-year-old national program that includes an elective class, where the goal is to help students achieve greater success in both the classroom and in their future. This is MCHS' third year as an AVID school.

Students in Mr. Hillier's Into to Theatre class made fake bruises as part of their makeup unit. Future projects include corrective and fantasy makeups.

For Tuesday Takeover, Latin-American Student Organization (LASO) took over and greeted students by handing them candy and invites to their November 1 Day of the Dead event. Band also performed a song to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month as students walked in Tuesday morning.

Join us Wednesday night at the Manufacturing, Trades and Industry Expo at Upper Campus! MCHS had 22 graduates from the Class of 2025 report that they would be pursuing employment/career paths with companies or unions who attend the MTI Expo. On Sunday, MCHS Special Olympics athletes, Unified Partners, and volunteers joined athletes from Grant High School, Grayslake Central, and District 15 for an exciting bocce ball tournament. The event was filled with great competition, sportsmanship and perfect weather! It was a wonderful celebration of inclusion, teamwork and the spirit of the Special Olympics.

Distinguished Graduate Michael Christensen spoke to students on Friday. Michael served in the Army National Guard and was deployed to Afghanistan where he earned a Bronze Star with Valor for his leadership.
