Mrs. Donelson's AP biology students just wrapped up a lab exploring the vital concepts of cell size and diffusion. They used model cells to visually demonstrate how the size of a cell affects the efficiency of nutrient absorption and waste removal. The results were clear: smaller cells have a higher surface area-to-volume ratio, making them champions at efficiently moving substances in and out! 🔬
