Final exams are Tuesday, May 19 and Wednesday, May 20. Day two finals are intentionally out of sequence in order to place a lunch period at the end of the day.

Surround Sound sent three different competitive groups to the IHSA Choir Competition and all three groups took first place in their category! The treble choir took Best in the Room for all performances.
Concert Choir took first place and overall excellence this weekend at the Music in the Parks competition while the Freshman Choir took second place. There were twelve different ensembles there and they performed beautifully. Great job, Vocal Warriors!

This past weekend, on the final day of Teacher Appreciation Week, the Chicago Fire welcomed the finalists for the Illinois State Teacher of the Year 2025 and 2026 to Soldier Field to honor them for their commitment to education. Our very own Heidie Dunn was an ISBE Far North Suburbs Teacher of the Year in 2025. They were honored before the game and treated like all-stars!

On Monday, we celebrated senior Kaitlyn Norris earning a $1,000 scholarship through the McHenry County Regional Office of Education's new Teach for McHenry County scholarship program.

Congratulations to our 200 Distinguished Warriors, our largest group! Thank you to our alum speaker, Ryan Wildenhain! We'd also like to thank our generous sponsors, Castle Autoplex of McHenry, Buss Ford Lincoln and Sunnyside! They presented scholarships to two Distinguished Warriors chosen randomly. Well done, Warriors!

The MCHS Foundation is hosting a Kentucky Derby Party with live bands at Sideouts Sports Tavern in Island Lake from 4-8 p.m. on Saturday, May 2. The MCHS Foundation provides scholarships, supplies and a variety of financial assistance for students in need at MCHS. This year our MCHS Foundation provided over $30,000 in scholarships and support.

Warrior Chef students Maddie and Megan competed in the McHenry County College high school culinary competition. Congrats on doing such a fantastic job making a dish the judges loved! They received fourth place!

Nick Valenziano and Tim Kirk's students were honored for being Business Professionals of America state award recipients at Monday's board meeting. Senior Ariel Montes was honored for being a practicum in accounting student at Eccezion this semester. Great job, everyone!
