Our students' art will be displayed in the school from April 20-28. Join us at the reception in the Upper Campus Warrior Room (420) from 6-7:30 p.m. on April 28. There will also be craft sales during lunch periods on April 28.

The MCHS Foundation is hosting a Kentucky Derby Party with live bands at Sideouts Sports Tavern in Island Lake from 4-8 p.m. on Saturday, May 2. The MCHS Foundation provides scholarships, supplies and a variety of financial assistance for students in need at MCHS. This year our MCHS Foundation provided over $30,000 in scholarships and support.

Congratulations to our newest AVID Warriors Jennifer Johnson, Araceli Campos, Yesenia Morales and Annette Folden! They completed the twelve-hour AVID strategies training. AVID is a 45-year-old national program that includes an elective class, where the goal is to help students achieve greater success in both the classroom and in their future. This is MCHS' third year as an AVID school.




Freshman Campus had a Mini College and Career Fair during lunches on Wednesday. Students were encouraged to ask the representatives questions as they begin to think about their future careers. The annual Upper Campus College and Career Fair will be April 17 during the school day.

Students voted for their favorite franchises March Madness style: Introduction to Business students researched and presented potential franchise opportunities for the McHenry area as part of their unit on forms of business ownership. Students and staff are getting in on the action by voting for their favorite franchise using a tournament bracket system modeled after the popular college basketball series.
