Congratulations to Melanie Kadlec and Joun Aubert, our newest AVID Warriors! They completed the twelve-hour AVID strategies training. AVID is a 45-year-old national program that includes an elective class, where the goal is to help students achieve greater success in both the classroom and in their future. This is MCHS' third year as an AVID school.


Join us 6-8 p.m. April 1 in the Upper Campus Main Gym for Transition Resource Fair. Our goal is to provide resources that support students with disabilities towards independence and success in their futures.


Students are invited to learn more about McHenry County College at Meet MCC night 5:30-7:30 p.m. March 18 at the Liebman Science Center. (Building F) This expo-style open house is a wonderful opportunity to explore MCC’s wide range of academic programs and student services.

Congratulations to our outstanding PE students of the quarter! The students have been selected based on their efforts in demonstrating a positive attitude, participation in activities, work ethic, respect and integrity.

McHenry County College hosted another group of MCHS students on Friday! They heard about programs, scholarships, took a tour and enjoyed lunch courtesy of MCC!







On Friday, physical education classes went to a Wellness Fair held in the gym. We had a variety of health-related representatives from the community educate our students.

More than 150 juniors took advantage of MCHS hosting an early ACT test on Saturday. All juniors will take the ACT on April 15.

On Thursday, MCHS students enrolled in Dual Credit Incubator visited McHenry County College for a Introduction to Entrepreneurship course field trip. While at MCC, they heard a speech from Dr. Sherry Ridge (Business Department Chair), attended a dual-credit presentation from MCC advisors, and received a full campus tour.
